The Phantom of the Opera: Back and better than ever

phantomThe Phantom of the Opera, the best-selling and longest-running Broadway show of all time, returns to Boston this summer in a production that promises to outdo itself.

Revitalized with an all-new set, staging, and choreography, the classic Andrew Lloyd Webber musical will run from June 26 through July 20 at the Boston Opera House.

The original Phantom of the Opera premiered in London in 1986 and on Broadway in 1988, and it’s been running ever since. It tells the story of a poignant love triangle among young soprano Christine, her suitor Raoul, and the mysterious Phantom, who lurks in the shadows of the Paris Opera House. This new production, which just completed a sold-out tour of the United Kingdom, features Mark Campbell as The Phantom, Julia Rose Udine as Christine, and Ben Jacoby as Raoul.

Among the show’s highlights are the exquisite costumes, the spectacular special effects – including the famous chandelier – and of course, the unforgettable musical score.
