Want to have fun and save the planet, too? Check out Boston GreenFest 2014, a free event that takes place Friday through Sunday, Aug. 15 to 17, at Boston City Hall Plaza.
Multicultural music, environmentalism, and education all come together at this festival, which showcases earth-friendly foods, fashions, green technologies and other products. Performers from all over the world will provide continuous entertainment on four stages, while talks and workshops on health, fitness, and eco-responsibility will be presented throughout the weekend.
Be sure to bring the kids: the EcoKids center will offer hands-on interactive exhibits, a display of zoo animals, and family-oriented music. The whole festival kicks off with the Boston Kids HaikuGarden Parade (find out how to participate here).
The weekend also includes the Gubernatorial EcoForum, a chance for the candidates for governor of Massachusetts to share their visions of a sustainable future, to be held on Friday, Aug. 15 from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.
If you’re curious about changes – large and small – you can make in your daily life to help ensure a green future, GreenFest is a great place to start. Are you staying with us at the Kendall Hotel? Boston City Hall is easy to reach via subway – just ask us for directions!
